At Baker's Gas and Welding, we understand how essential a reliable welding hood is for your work. If your hood's lens (ADF) stops working, don't worry--we're here to hlep! Most welding helmets come with a 3-5 year warranty depending on the manufacturer that covers issues like faulty ADFs. Please note that this warranty does not cover use, abuse, or physical damage.
Here's a step-by-step guide on how to submit a warranty claim for a non-working lens on your welding hood:

1. Check Warranty Coverage
- Ensure your welding hood is within the warranty period, typically 3-5 years from the date of purchase.
- Verify that there is no physical damage to the ADF as this will not be covered under warranty.
2. Provide Your Information

- A clear photo of the ADF/lens showing that there is no physical damage.
- The helmet SKU and serial number (SN). If you need assistance determining the SN on your helmet, check out our other post here!
- A detailed description of the issue. Describe wha happens wen you attempt to use the helmet. Does the lens fail to darken? Does it flicker or remain inactive?
- Your full name, phone number, and an updated shipping address for the manufacturer to send a replacement.
Lincoln Electric has one of the best warranties on the market. They offer a 5 year warranty on their ADFs. In theory, you could get 10 years out of the helmet! If you're interested in checking out our collection of Lincoln helmets, you can do so at the provided link.
