Materials include silica woven cloth fabric on outside layers with leather rimming and ceramic cloth insulation between outer layers of silica cloth.

This is extremely effective on protecting your resting hand on hot surfaces.

Note: Any true effective heat material will be in a yarn type weave, you will want to be careful to not puncture the weave and or cut into the fabric, it will want to come apart  due to its construction, so handle properly while using.
