The Pasco County Jail, near Tampa Bay, Florida, has provided a welding class that has kept all of its former students out of jail after release. Over the course of four ten-hour days each week, non-violent inmates participate in a comprehensive welding class that provides experience and certification that ensures much brighter job prospects.

The class makes grills and smokers that are then sold to benefit the inmate services fund. However, most importantly, the graduates of the class have the hope of earning a stable $15 to $20 an hour with a local welding company.
