When roving artist Joseph Jilbert landed in the Crawfish Capital of the World, he found an obvious subject for his larger-than-life sculptures.
Jilbert recently unveiled the product of that inspiration — a 16-foot crawfish made of recycled scrap metal.

Penton to shutter print versions of ‘American Machinist,’ ‘Welding Design & Fabrication’
Penton Media said it will no longer produce print versions of American Machinist, which has been published continuously since 1877, and Welding Design & Fabrication.
The company has also canceled the 2010 Machine Shop Workshop.

Their Sparx Welding and Technology Institute, which opens this month, is a private school that aims to train students in quality welding.
Welding training center to strike in Spartanburg while iron is hot
A new welding training center is opening in Spartanburg this month, which its leaders say will quickly prepare students for what continues to be a hot profession in the Upstate.
Welding 48-hour course offered at CLC
The Business and Industry Center at Central Lakes College, Brainerd, has scheduled a 48-hour welding course Jan. 26-March 4 on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
ICTC offers welding training
Indian Capital Technology Center is offering a 120-hour welding class to individuals 18 years of age or older, who are unemployed or underemployed. The goal is to provide new skills or upgrade skills for employment upon completion of the training.
