Baker's Gas Meet the Future of Welding: The New Fronius Fortis Series Has Arrived

Fronius Fortis

If you're looking for your next MIG/MAG welding machine, it's time to take a serious look at the all-new Fronius Fortis welders. The latest line of manual welding systems built for professionals who demand power, precision and performance. We have one in our demo room and tested it out full review video linked below.

What is the Fronius Fortis?

These welders are turning heads everywhere. They are wire to plug into anywhere single phase 208-240V as well as 3 phase 200-600V. Makes them very versatile!

The Fortis supports MIG/MAG, TIG DC, and MMA (stick) welding, so one machine can cover many different job types.

It has up to 240 optimized welding characteristics (steel, stainless, aluminum), which helps with maintaining good, stable arcs across diverse materials and welding positions (root passes, vertical up, thin sheets) without constant fiddling.

Models from 270A up to 500A, giving enough headroom for heavier-duty fabrication while still being usable on lighter work.

The “Split” versions provide external wire feeders so you can get longer leads, more flexibility — important on large jobs or when torch reach is critical.

Key Features of the Fronius Fortis

Lightweight and Portable: Easy to move around with or without the cart

Rugged Housing: Designed to handle drops and bumps. 7‑inch color display with intuitive, graphical menus. Over 30 languages, so easier to use globally.

A parameter wizard to guide the setup: reduce trial‑and‑error, speed up job changeovers.

Simple Controls: even while using gloves: robust rotary and push buttons.

Pulse welding, SynchroPulse (for better control, appearance especially with aluminum).

Spoolbay visibility has never been better, with an automatic light for easier viewing of your set up internally. Swapping drive rolls made super easy.

Who is the Fortis For?

Perfect for welders and contractors that need a machine that is durable, dependable and and innovative. The Fortis machines set themselves aside with the capability of aluminum being ran right through the MIG Gun. With our aluminum kit anyone can easily weld aluminum with out any expensive spoolgun or push-pull setup.

What did the Fortis Replace?

This is the direct replacement for the popular TransSteel line. The Fortis 270 replaces the 2200 and the 320 replaces the 2700. Along with the 400 and 500 paving their own path with higher amperage and water cooling capabilities.
