The ESAB Rebel EMP 205

The latest ESAB Rebel, due out in the second quarter of 2018, promises a truly all-process welding experience. While the latest Rebel provides MIG/TIG/Stick welding capabilities in a compact, easily transported machine, it goes the extra mile with AC welding capabilities in addition to DC welding.

For welders hoping to TIG weld aluminum with AC power, the Rebel 205 now offers the AC output and high-frequency (HF) arc starts required for TIG projects. The AC output frequency, which ranges up to 40 Hz, and the AC wave balance can also be adjusted for these projects.

All of the features that welders have raved about in the previous Rebel models. Easy starts and Smart MIG (sMIG) technology remain in this new model, as well as its cutting edge LCD interface and rugged shell for improved portability. Its duty cycle at 205 amps is 20%. The ESAB Rebel EMP 285ic Welder

Bumping up the power a notch, the brand new ESAB Rebel 285ic, due out in the beginning of 2018, offers high-powered versatility with 120V-230V and 460V-575V options for welders who need an extra jolt for their projects. Welders can work with 350A and use wires that range from .035 in. (0.9 mm) and .045 in. (1.2 mm).

Depending on your model, welders can work at 285A 40% duty cycle or 50% duty cycle with the options of short arc and spray transfer processes. The new 4 Roll Drive System from ESAB makes MIG welding a snap with a full range of wire options, including flux cored wires.

The high-powered LCD display has four programmable memory locations for each process in order to save frequently used settings. MIG users will continue to enjoy ESAB’s innovative sMIG technology that adapts to each welder’s unique technique in order to create a stable arc.
